Ahhhh the joys of a new build. Fresh and never been touched, why would you not want a brand spanking new house? It’s for you to bed in and everything should be hunky-dory… There are some problems that can arise though, and because the house hasn’t been lived in, you’re essentially the ‘testee’. You may come across problems to start with, such as minor leaks, electricity issues or heating problems. They’re more common then you may think, and the reason behind any problem is usually carelessness on the builder’s part.
We recommend you test everything you can before building work comes to an end, and you should always be looking out for any issues and pointing them out to the project manager. Make sure you’re involved with the new property all the way through it’s construction, because it can mean you run into fewer problems when the work is complete.
